Terms of Use

1. Eligibility and Account

You must be legally capable of entering into a binding agreement in your jurisdiction to use the Service.

You may use Loko as a guest where available or by signing in through supported methods, including Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device, account credentials, and any authentication method linked to your use of Loko.

You agree to provide accurate information where required and to use the Service only for lawful purposes.

2. Apple App Store Terms

If you access Loko through an Apple device or download it from the Apple App Store:

• Your use of the app must comply with the applicable App Store usage rules.
• The app is licensed, not sold, to you.
• If no separate custom end-user license agreement is presented in the App Store listing, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to the app.
• If any provision of these Terms conflicts with mandatory Apple requirements or the applicable Apple standard EULA, the applicable Apple requirement or Apple standard EULA will control to the extent of the conflict.

3. License

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to use Loko for your personal, non-commercial use on devices you own or control, in accordance with these Terms and any applicable platform rules.

You may not:

• Copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service except as expressly permitted by law
• Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive source code except where prohibited restrictions are unenforceable under applicable law
• Use the Service to violate any law or another person's rights
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity, security, or operation of the Service
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data
• Use automated means to scrape, overload, or abuse the Service

4. Service Description

Loko provides translation and related language-assistance features, which may include text, voice, image, travel-context, and AI-assisted functionality.

Some features depend on third-party providers, network connectivity, device permissions, platform services, or paid entitlements. Features may vary by device, region, language, provider availability, or subscription status.

5. User Content and Inputs

You may submit text, audio, images, and other content to use Loko features ("Inputs").

You retain any rights you have in your Inputs. You grant us a limited right to process, transmit, and use your Inputs only as necessary to operate the Service and provide the feature you request.

You represent that you have the rights and permissions necessary to submit your Inputs and that your Inputs and use of the Service will not violate law, infringe rights, or harm others.

You must not use Loko to submit or process content that is unlawful, abusive, infringing, fraudulent, defamatory, hateful, exploitative, or otherwise harmful.

6. Third-Party Services

Loko may rely on third-party providers, including Microsoft Azure and Volcengine, to deliver translation, speech, AI, or related capabilities.

We are not responsible for outages, errors, latency, policy changes, or feature changes caused by third-party services. Your use of features that depend on third-party services may also be subject to those providers' terms and policies.

7. Purchases, Subscriptions, and Credits

Loko may offer paid subscriptions, one-time purchases, credit packs, or other paid digital entitlements.

• Prices, available plans, and included entitlements may change.
• Purchases made through Apple are billed by Apple and are subject to Apple's payment terms.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period, where applicable under Apple's billing rules.
• You can manage or cancel Apple subscriptions through your Apple account settings.
• Credits, quotas, or entitlements may be consumed when you use certain features.
• Except where required by law or platform policy, purchases, credits, and used entitlements are non-refundable.

We may suspend access to paid features where payment fails, a refund or chargeback occurs, fraud is suspected, or platform entitlement status changes.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Loko:

• For unlawful, misleading, deceptive, or fraudulent activity
• To infringe intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights
• To harass, threaten, abuse, exploit, or harm others
• To transmit malware, spam, or abusive automated requests
• To probe, scan, or test vulnerabilities of the Service without authorization
• To circumvent quotas, billing rules, account limits, or technical protections
• In any way that could damage Loko, its providers, or other users

We may investigate violations and suspend or terminate access where appropriate.

9. Availability and Changes

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of Loko at any time, including features, providers, pricing, credits, or availability, with or without notice, subject to applicable law.

We are not obligated to maintain any specific feature, provider, language pair, translation mode, or level of service availability.

10. Privacy

Our collection and use of information are described in Loko's Privacy Policy. By using Loko, you acknowledge that certain text, voice, and image inputs may be transmitted to third-party providers such as Azure and Volcengine to fulfill your requests.

11. Intellectual Property

Loko, including its software, design, branding, text, graphics, interfaces, and related materials, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property and other laws.

Except for the limited license granted in these Terms, no rights are granted to you.

12. Disclaimers

Loko is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Translation, speech, OCR, AI, and travel-assistance outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate, delayed, offensive, or unavailable. You should independently review important translations before relying on them in legal, medical, safety-critical, financial, immigration, emergency, or other high-risk contexts.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or that the Service will be error-free or secure.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Loko and its affiliates, licensors, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, goodwill, data, business opportunities, or other intangible losses arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Service.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of:

• The amount you paid to us for the Service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim
• USD $50

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers or limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

14. Termination

You may stop using Loko at any time.

We may suspend or terminate your access, in whole or in part, if we reasonably believe:

• You violated these Terms
• Your use creates risk, legal exposure, or harm
• We are required to do so by law, platform rules, or provider requirements
• Continued operation of the Service is no longer commercially or technically feasible

Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including sections relating to payments, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and dispute-related provisions.

15. Governing Law

To the extent permitted by applicable law, these Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Service provider is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

If you are a consumer living in a jurisdiction that gives you mandatory consumer protections, nothing in these Terms limits those protections.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised version with a new "Last updated" date. By continuing to use Loko after the updated Terms become effective, you agree to the revised Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
